Scottish Cat Club The Scottish Cat Club have a new website, too. They, like us, are an area club and operate a similar website to ourselves with a stud and breeder list and lots of great cat links.
Formed in 1994, the Scottish Rex Cat Club is a small but enthusiastic and friendly band of Rex lovers who hail from both North and South of the border.
Siamese Cat Society of Scotland The Siamese Cat Society of Scotland is a specialist breed club and they can offer advice on every aspect of the care of a Siamese. They also operate a kitten list, a stud and a breeder list and there are links to members websites.
The West of Scotland Cat Club is an all breed cat club similar to ourselves catering to anyone interested in cats principally based in the West of Scotland but they welcome members and interest from all parts of the globe.
Links to Cat Charities/Welfare Organisations
Cats Protection. Major charity in the UK working to secure the welfare and responsible ownership of cats. They rescue and rehome cats.
Siamese Rescue is a registered charity working to ensure good homes for any Siamese who cannot stay in its existing home or who is homeless. They encourage responsible ownership, expecting a lifetime home for each of their charges. It is also possible to sponsor a Siamese living permanently in rescue if you are not able to offer a permanent home but would still like to help.
Cat Organisations
Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB). FAB fund research and their website has a great deal of fantastic information about cats. They offer advice and training on the construction and running of catteries as well.
The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) is our registering body. They regulate breeding and showing. There is lots of information on their website about owning cats, breeding cats, showing cats, cat clubs, show dates, etc.
Supreme Show. The Supreme Show is the feline equivalent of Crufts. It is held annually in November and cats must 'qualify' to enter.
Individual Cat Websites
The Caledonian Cat Clinic is a well designed website belonging to an organisation which caters exclusively for cats. They have a Veterinary Cat Clinic, offer healthcare information, have an internet shopping service, and an entertaining Cat of the Month feature introducing readers to various of their cat patients, including Casper, who they would like to be a shadow of his former self! The Catteries page offers advice to owners wanting to know what to look for in a good cattery and the Links page has lots of great links to other cat related sites. Submit your favourite funny cat pictures to the Cat Fun page - you never know they may feature it for you!
Palantir is well designed with lots of good information about cats and breeding. There are many useful links to other breeders, cat clubs, etc.
Siamese Planet Siamese Planet is a new website, beautifully designed and well written. It aims to offer information about everything Siamese. There are links to other Siamese breeders' websites, a kitten list, and a stud list amongst many other things.
Cat Supplies
Gardenpine Gardenpine designs and manufactures pet housing and they are based in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway. They recently added cat houses to their range of products. If you're looking for a new cat house, check out the ones on offer on their site.
Kitten & Breeder Listing Sites
Kittymania is another website with lots of great information about cats, pedigree and non-pedigree. It has links to lists of breeders, information for people thinking of buying/acquiring a new kitten and lots of other great information.
