The Beautiful Pandas Born in October 2005
I receive a lot of 'round-robin' emails and some of the contain great photos. These photos are of the baby pandas born in October 2005 - as far as I can see, in China, since the photos are stamped 'China Foto Press'. They are just so cute and I thought you might like to see them too.

Beautiful but Deadly - Lilies
You may have already read the awful news of the death of a cat after it brushed against a lily, got pollen on her fur and cleaned it off. Here is the gist of the story. Read it and remember it if you ever are likely to have lilies in your house:
In Folkestone, Kent, John and Patricia Hartnett's pet died after brushing against Oriental Stargazer Lilies. The BBC article from which I took this information quotes the RSPCA as warning that several plants can cause illness and that people should seek veterinary advice if a pet shows signs of poisoning, such as vomiting or collapse.
RSPCA Spokeswoman Katy Geary is quoted in the BBC article as saying:
"People should not panic but should be aware of the potential dangers."
"All lilies are potentially lethal to cats. As little as a leaf can kill if ingested, but any part of the plant is dangerous including pollen, flower or leaves."
"Also at risk is a bored puppy or kitten which is left alone and starts to chew houseplants, or picks up plant trimmings unnoticed whilst out in the garden."
"Dumb Cane or Leopard Lilies, Cyclamen, Poinsettia, Amaryllis, Laburnum, berries, toadstools and members of the Hemerocallis family can all be poisonous."
And finally ....
This came to me by email and it's far too good to keep to myself. See what you think of it:
You are a South African bush pilot. You fly in some critical medical supplies, enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital.
It's a stifling 100 degrees in the shade and you're eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder.
On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade, within 1 mile, has become very popular ..... You start calculating the distance to the plane door and wonder.....
"Do I feel lucky today?"

Isn't THAT awesome????????
