Championship Show 2011
This year's show will be our 40th Championship show, held under the rules and licence of the GCCF and open to all. It will be held on the 14th of May in the Caird Hall right in the centre of the city of Dundee. Photos of some of the cats at, and a report on, the 2009 show can be seen here.
Schedules for the 2011 show are now available online to download here. Entry Forms are available to download here. If you download a copy from the website, you will not need a hard copy in the post as well. Please be sure to check and sign your Entry Form and return it to the address specified in the Schedule and on the Entry Form. Please enter, we need your support to make the show a good one.
Entries for the show are usually around 300 cats and approximately 800 people visit our show yearly. If you would like to drop in and visit our show, you might like to note that the show opens to the public at around 12.30 pm as the show hall is kept clear in the morning so that the judges can do their jobs unheeded whilst they are judging the most important, the Open, classes. These are the classes in which cats compete for their titles, Champion and Grand Champion for an entire cat (unneutered) and Premier and Grand Premier for neutered cats.
Just outside the main show hall, there is a café for exhibitors, stallholders and helpers providing a wide range of refreshments. There is a lift allowing access for wheelchairs which may be reached from the car park in the early morning should any exhibitor require this. Later in the day, this lift is locked, so please let the Show Managers know if you require such access.
Parking is available in the multi storey car park behind the show hall.
Dundee city centre has a wide range of shops and leisure activities and these are very close at hand.
Several stallholders regularly attend our show, including Royal Canin, Crystal Clear Pet Products Ltd, Krissi Lundgren Photographer, Milena Paterson Jewellery, Blue Point Siamese CC, and Cats of the World. Other stallholders who often attend include Cats Protection, and the SPCA. The range of products available extends from everyday use items to the strange and sometimes exotic and includes both catty and non-catty products. If you want to talk to someone about entering the show, the Drs Bennett are both very happy to guide you on how to fill in the Entry Form, how to choose the classes you might want to enter your cat in, and anything else show-related you might wish to know about.
