Our 36th Championship show, held under the rules and licence of the GCCF and open to all, was held on the 12th of May 2007 in the Caird Hall right in the centre of the city of Dundee. Photos of some of the cats at the show can be seen here. 2007 saw the second Best in Show competition after it was revived as part of the show and it proved entertaining and popular. Photos of the Best in Show winners can be found on the Show Photos page - link above.

Here are some of the other photos from the 2007 show. A great time was had by all. Close up of The Caird Hall, Dundee

The Caird Hall, Dundee

One of the bigger shows in the Scottish show calendar, the show is held in two halls, the main one being used for the show pens and the smaller, side hall, used for the stalls. Situated in the heart of the city of Dundee, the show attracts approximately 800 visitors every year.

Stallholders HallWith their own hall providing good space for stands, the show is popular with stallholders. Stallholders who often attend include the Cats Protection, and the SPCA. The range of products available extends from the mundane to the strange and sometimes exotic and includes both catty and non-catty products. If you would like a stall at this year's show, please contact our Hall Manager, ....., details on the Cat Show 2008 page.

Shows are expensive events to hold and sponsorship eases the burden considerably. The Nor' East of Scotland Cat Club was pleased to secure sponsorship from Royal Canin.

Thanks from everyone at the club to our sponsors for helping support our show financially. We hope you will continue to support us in this way.

The Catering Team 2007What kind of show would it be without good catering? Here are the Catering Team hard at work (photo from 2006 show), as usual, serving the Judges and Workers' lunches.

The Show HallThis next picture shows the main Show Hall with all the pens laid out and the table workers working hard on the stage. The table workers work with the Show Managers on the administration of the show on the day, writing up the results from the judges and marking up rosettes. As with most of the people involved in a show, they are all volunteers and the show wouldn't be possible without them. (Photo from 2006 show)

Tableworkers 2007The 'calm before the storm' picture of the tableworkers taken early on in the show when there are few results in from the judges to keep them really busy. Once the trays fill up with results from the judges, the tableworkers get a lot busier than you see them here. In front of the tableworkers, you can see the Best in Show pens set up ready for that important part of the show, which is decided towards the end of the day. (Photo 2006)

The Show HallThe children of those involved in the show often end up helping too. My own daughter, pictured here at the 2006 show, helps with handing out rosettes and likes to work as my assistant where the photography of the show is concerned.

Chilled Out Pussycat!OK, who said cat shows are stressful?! This photo, taken in 2006, shows that some cats take it very much in their stride and even end up sleeping! These are my favourite photos from the show - the candid ones!

If you are interested in showing for the first time, you will find a link to a guide to showing below along with a very useful show checklist, written by Ruth Town, Teapot Burmese - all the documents are in pdf format. To enter this year's show, you will need a Schedule and an Entry Form. Go to the Cat Show 2008 page for these documents. Entries from pedigrees and non-pedigrees are welcome. We want to see as many exhibitors as possible. If you're thinking about entering and have questions, read our guides and ask for advice by phone.

You will need Adobe Reader to open these files. If you don't already have Adobe Reader, download it for free by clicking on the Get Adobe Reader image below:
